Off Again: Day 17

Just a short trip from Ft. Myers to Sarasota so there was no rush to get going this morning.  The breakfast was a bit disappointing — the OJ was running out so a bit watery and we had to wait while for the girl to change it.  There were waffles you could toast but I’ve never been a fan of waffles — to me they’re just tough pancakes.  As a result, I only had a blueberry muffin and some orange juice.

I spent some time shopping in Ft. Myers before heading out and after I checked into my new motel, I drove around to get my bearings on Siesta Key until my room was ready.  There’s a bird sanctuary I hope I will get time to visit.  I found a tent sale on shoes and think I’ve bought a really good pair a a really good price.  Very good support.  Then I had lunch at a Mexican restaurant in the same mall.

After I was able to get into my room, I grabbed some pamphlets and looked them over by the pool.  I had a walk to the beach and got some nice photos.  Drove up to Lido Beach (where I was supposed to stay two nights after being here at Tropical Beach Resorts for two nights) and decided I didn’t want to stay there so came back and put in a cancellation.  I’ve booked another spot on the same block I’m on now for 1 night and will probably leave Monday instead of Tuesday.  This is an interesting place and I could see myself coming back here as the whole vacation for a couple of weeks or a month even.  There’s a huge variety of kinds of places to stay.  One of the places on this circle but right at the beach does time shares.  Lots of possibilities here.

Visited the local grocery store today and bought some bagels, cream cheese, yogurt and orange juice.  My room has a really nice little kitchen and dining table. No USB plugs which is a shame but I have my plug-in charger with me.

Two weather pictures today — one from Ft. Myers this morning and one from Sarasota this afternoon.

Thanks for that. Sarah sent me a picture of him the other day. I was wondering how they were all doing. Missing everyone. Getting a bit eager to get home despite not eager for the weather. Cheers!
