Easy Day!

Mountains seen from Pueblo, Colorado!

Well, yesterday’s flat, wet, straight Kansas highway gave way today to curving roads between green grills and mesas (I’m still trying to differentiate between buttes, mesas, and just plain mountains) with peaks sometimes sometimes obscured by magnificent clouds.

I had little difficulty this morning finding the Peruvian Fair Trade store I had bought from last spring.  They had sent me the wrong item and I came to exchange them in person and enjoyed shopping in their store.  The staff was very friendly and their prices quite reasonable.  I was able to pick up a few gifts and then was back on the road by noon.

Reached Pueblo before 2 p.m. after a very pleasant drive.  The motel staff is very nice.  Their collection of tourist pamphlets cover Boulder, Denver, Colorado Springs, and Santa Fe, but no map of downtown Pueblo!  However, I did manage to find one of the places I had read about online — the ultralight centre.  I have some pictures of sculptures and wall murals, both paintings and mosaics that are pretty neat.  Due to me mistaking WiFi for Free WiFi I am doing my blog from McDonalds.

About mysm2000

Having taught elementary school for more than 25 years and been involved in many amazing technology and curriculum projects, I find I've developed a myriad of interests based on literature I've read and music I've heard. I've followed The Wright Three to Chicago, Ansel Adams to Colorado, The Kon Tiki Expedition to Easter Island, Simon & Garfunkel lyrics to New York City, Frank Lloyd Wright to Fallingwater, Pennsylvania, and have only just begun.
