Early Arrival

I’m safe and sound and holed up in the motel trying to figure out what to do about dinner.  You may have heard some horror stories on the news — Colorado is being hard hit by rains.  It started in Kansas yesterday evening and when I got on the road this morning, the horizon was gray in every direction.  The I-70 is an almost straight road so things weren’t too bad.  I stopped at rest stops twice along the way and gained an hour so got in around 2:30 p.m. Colorado time. Coming into Denver, there were delays as there was standing water in a number of places.  As I came off the I-70, I took a picture of the intersection I had to turn onto to get to my motel.  You can see my side mirror in the bottom right and to my left there should have been two left-turn lanes. The sign-post in the middle slightly left of center should be the edge of the road.  Car and I are both doing well.  May add more later.Image

About mysm2000

Having taught elementary school for more than 25 years and been involved in many amazing technology and curriculum projects, I find I've developed a myriad of interests based on literature I've read and music I've heard. I've followed The Wright Three to Chicago, Ansel Adams to Colorado, The Kon Tiki Expedition to Easter Island, Simon & Garfunkel lyrics to New York City, Frank Lloyd Wright to Fallingwater, Pennsylvania, and have only just begun.
