Well, Toto, we’re in Kansas! It was a gorgeous day: wide open spaces, high cirrus clouds, very little traffic. Had a very easy drive and arrived at the Ramada Conference Inn before 2 p.m. If I wanted a pool-side room, I had to wait until 3 p.m. so I went down the road to a mall, inspiringly called, “The Mall!” It was great! I had a couple of egg rolls for a late lunch and shopped. Lots of stores with unfamiliar names. Interesting clothes but rather high prices, I thought. Finally got to J. C. Penny’s. BIG mistake!! They carry a high-end brand Sears Canada sells that are always too expensive for me, Alfred Dunner. Here, they were much lower prices and fit me perfectly. Got several very nice tops.
Back at the hotel, I got checked into my pool-side room, unloaded the car, and got to the pool. It was not as warm as the outdoor pool in Columbia but there was a hot tub as well. Swam, did some exercises, hit the hot tub for a bit and then changed for dinner. This is just a stop over so I’m watching a bit of TV, doing my blog, do a bit of research on the Internet (free WiFi, of course). Hope you like the panoramic picture of the Ramada Inn’s pool area.
Today is Sept. 11th and the television news here is reminiscing about the twin towers, New York City. A very sad reminder.
Hopefully a nice easy drive tomorrow to Commerce City, Denver. I’m almost there and it becomes more unbelieveable every day. Four more days on the road to Crow Canyon.
