Well, school finished at 2:30 p.m. today. A staff party was enjoyed by all in a beautiful country setting, very relaxing, cooler than in the city and everything I need from the classroom, I have. The room is cleaner/tidier than it ever was while I occupied it. There are quite a few resources/posters that my colleagues and the incoming teacher can help themselves to and use for the benefit of the incoming students.
The new focus is getting my house ready to sell, getting into a state where I can actually relax and watch T.V. without going nuts if I’m not doing something with my hands — twenty-six years of preparing, marking, and researching — and getting ready for Colorado and the big road trip. I’ve got my briefing book for the Colorado dig. My new countdown is set for Day 1 of the dig — September 15th, 2013 — although I head out on September 4th for Dad’s and everything will need to be ready for the trip by then.
Step 1 for learning to relax: turn the alarms off before going to bed tonight. I’ll keep you posted on how the home organization is going.
