Two days to go!! The students are still working on fractions, watching a movie for a bit of a reward, and the rooms are all getting tidied up. Report cards go home tomorrow but some of the children have already left for the summer. I’ve brought a few things home today and will only have a few to bring on the last day. A bit more recycling tomorrow, an awards assembly on Thursday, and as a special treat for me, we’re playing O Canada by the Nylons every morning this week! My first assignment on retiring is the staff party; then, I need to get the kitchen floor laid and the dining room cleaned out so I have room to take the broken washer out of the basement and a new one put in. Downsizing is my main priority and making my front and back yards look more respectable. I’d like to put my condo up for sale as soon as possible and before I head off to Colorado so I’ll have my work cut out for me.
I’ve been looking at some condos in low rise buildings and it’s very interesting the range of price and floor space. Also, It seems that not many condos called “lofts” are the traditional lofts with a bedroom space overlooking the main level. Many of them also lack the exposed brick which is part of the charm of such a unit as far as I’m concerned. Mostly, they don’t have underground parking either which could be a drawback in this northern climate. I’ve seen some interesting places both close to downtown and out of the city but the current condo needs to be sold first. A number of units in my area have been up for sale for awhile without any success so it will be important not to count my chickens before they’re hatched. It isn’t too likely it will happen before I head out on the road!
